Carolyn Aponte

Mrs. Aponte has been an educator for 26 years. She is an experienced teacher, literacy coach and administrator in grades K-12. Her teaching career began in Rochester, NY. Mrs. Aponte holds a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Ed and English and a Masters of Science in Elementary Education. In 2001 she obtained her Masters in Educational Leadership and left the Rochester area in 2004 to seize an opportunity to become a Reading First Regional Coordinator with the NYC Department of Education. After marrying in 2006, she returned to the Rochester area a year later to work as an Assistant Principal at the elementary level. This experience taught her the day to day operations of being a building based administrator. The next leg of her journey as an educator took her to Jacksonville, Florida where she has held positions as a high school teacher, a reading coach and an Assistant Principal at both the Middle and high school levels. Mrs. Aponte has worked in the Duval County Public Schools and worked at James Weldon Johnson College Prep and Julia Landon College Prep. She brings a plethora of knowledge and experience that will be an asset to the staff and students at SJP.
